It was driving into
New Orleans area that Vernon noticed the siding on our 5th wheel peeling
off. Insulation was flying out onto the highway. We pulled over and
Vernon went right to work on figuring out the best way to fix this hole
in the side of our RV. This is not exactly the way we had hoped to end
the monotony of the highway hypnosis.
We found so many great places to eat at! We had the best Red Beans and
Rice ever. In fact we ordered a version of that almost every night. This was our favorite restaurant we went to. We had our own
private out door dining area. It was a beautiful night.
We found a secret hide-away! This is was a beautiful lounge area hidden
in between some hotels in the French Quarters! Auvi wants her bedroom to
be just like this. This night and weather were perfect.
We enjoyed the history and the architecture of New Orleans.
Of course we had to try
Mardi Gras mask. And we even got to see a few street performers. These
guys pictured just stayed as motionless as possible for a long time. He
had about a 3" length of ash on that cigarette and then they make a move
into another pose. Interesting.
We
didn’t take the tornado warnings very seriously until we almost blew
away. When we got home our awning was blown off and hanging from the RV.
But we did manage to get it operable and then went on a late night
nature hunt with the kids. We found so many cool things out late.
Our favorite store in the French quarters was
Papier Plume. The kids all tried quill pens until they found the
one that was right for them. This is a great store. And Robin was so
kind to work with the kids in picking the right pen. We also got our
LOUD Family signature book that we have friends sign that we meet on our
trip. Kati found a great store. It was a knitting/yarn store. they had
some cool things at some not so cool prices.
