Families On The Road (FOTR) Gathering
by Vernon 27 Jan 2008
Pic stolen from Kimberly Goza :-)
In an attempt to gather many other people around us that also full time just so we don't feel so weird like our families keep telling us we are, the LOUD family attended the annual FOTR gathering in Cape Canaveral, FL at Jetty Park. It was so awesome. We had so many friends attending and meet so many new friends. Our kids were able to meet friends they had been only able to chat online with up till now.

You can view the summary of this gathering also at the FOTR website.

At first we had a finger food social. This let us get some great food and meet all the people at our gathering. We know how to fill a playground. I have to apologize the food was so good and I got so involved talking with everyone that I didn't even bring the camera out to share the moment. So you just have to image a picnic table billowing over with some of the greatest finger foods like extremely spicy chicken pieces, vegetable platters, fruit platters, mini-corndogs, cream-cheese wontons sprinkled in sugar and the list goes on and on. It was a meal fit for a hungry bunch of Royal FOTR families. And we did eat like Kings and Queens.
Later we got the families together and we make flags for each of us to hang on our RVs so we can let everyone know who we are. The kids had a blast with this project.

The boys quickly changed the gameplan to war games
Then we had a visit from Captain Jack Sparrow. He lead the kids on a wild adventure for buried treasure. The kids had a blast. And they found the treasure!!!

Then we had some great times just hanging out with our new friends. It was great seeing how many different ways there are to travel with your family. We even toured everyone's RV to see how they had it setup.

We got to see many cruises leaving and the kids always got excited. The Disney cruise would even blow its whistle that played "When you wish upon a star"

The kids chilling out at the beach (Literally)  It was cold out on the beach but the kids still wanted to play

This was such a great time for everyone. We are so glad that we are members of the FOTR group and that we got to meet so many families that are out there enjoying this beautiful country. This journey has brought our family closer together and we see that in our friends as well.

Safe journeys to everyone!!!
